Solar Hybrid Eclipse

20th Apr 2023

Greatest Eclipse and alignment of Sun and Moon Meridians over Bali, Indonesia:

04:17 UT / 05:17 BST / 12:17 WITA (Central Indonesian Time)

This Solar Eclipse, at the end of the very last degree of Aries, along with Pluto having just moved into Aquarius and Saturn into Pisces, marks the beginning of a new cycle of growth. The Sabian symbol for the Sun and Moon’s degree, is “a duck pond and its brood”…time for us all to “get our ducks in a row”!

The path of totality passes in between Australia and Indonesia, with Greatest Eclipse over Timor. At Greatest Eclipse, the north-south meridians of the Sun and Moon will also align directly above Bali, Indonesia (at 12:17 WITA – local time).

Bali is one of the two places where the two great planetary dragon lines, the Plumed Serpent and the Rainbow Serpent intersect; the other intersection point is on the Isle of the Sun on Lake Titicaca, Bolivia. This means that the energy potentials brought by the Eclipse are likely to affect all the Earth’s planetary grid systems and everybody on Earth, as the Sun and Moon align and imprint new potentials into the energy vortex, created by the sacred mountains of Bali.

The Sun and Moon in Aries are in two T-square patterns: one has Sun – Moon – Vesta in opposition to the Moon’s South Node in Scorpio, with both ends of the opposition making (90°) squares to Pluto in Aquarius.

The other T-square has Sun – Moon – Vesta at the apex of the two (90°) squares from Pluto and Pallas Athene in Cancer, which are in opposition to one another.

These T-squares are about letting go of our past attachments and vested interests in the old power structures that were marked by Pluto’s passage through Capricorn, over the last 15 years. Those days are ended, and we are entering a new era as Pluto begins its 20-year transit through Aquarius. As the eclipse occurs, Pluto is counter-balanced by the female warrior energy of Pallas Athene, meaning that expressions of political power and control are now being tempered and balanced by a more personal “people power”, driven by true sense of justice for all. This trend is already evident in the mass protests and strikes that have been springing up in France, Israel, the UK, Germany and elsewhere.

The Sun and Moon are flanked on one side by Chiron and Jupiter in Aries and, on the other, by Vesta in Taurus.

This Eclipse, as well as marking the beginning of the end of an era of abuses of political power, is also bringing new opportunities for thinking creatively (Jupiter) how to heal the past (Chiron) and live more fully from the heart (Vesta), in the here and now. The presence of the Eclipse means that these opportunities for change can manifest if we first have the courage to move into stillness and confront the darkness, to face our fears, and to acknowledge those times past, when we may not have lived from the heart or in full alignment with our true inner creativity. This is the gift of a death and a rebirth, being offered by the Eclipse.

Mercury and Juno are conjunct with Uranus in Taurus, as part of a Cradle pattern with Pallas Athene, Ceres and Neptune.

The Cradle pattern is about holding true to our inner knowing. If we are not sure about that, then we may need to withdraw into ourselves to not be distracted by the outside, until we feel more certain about our inner knowing. The “lid” of the Cradle is the opposition between retrograde Ceres in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces. This is about acknowledging the uncertain future of our environment, and holding true to our inner knowing of what is required for us to move more fully into right relationship with Mother Earth, and what is the right action that needs to spring from that inner knowing. This will be different for each of us, according to our talents, skills and inner knowing.

Chiron is part of a linear pattern, with a (90°) square to Mars in Cancer, which has a (30°) semi-sextile to Venus in Gemini.

Healing can come about through right action, based upon the wisdom that we have accumulated in the past, and opening us up to new, inspiring and beautiful opportunities in the future.

Saturn is standing apart in an Ambivalence triangle with a (60°) sextile to the Sun – Moon conjunction, and a (120°) trine to the South Node in Scorpio.

Saturn, in the first few degrees of Pisces, is giving us a breather, enabling us to use the momentary hiatus of the Eclipse, to stand apart from all that is going on around us and simply observe and witness objectively what is going on within us and outside of us. This may provide an insight or a moment of understanding that may occur in a flash, but which may take some time to process, integrate and eventually come fully into our conscious awareness, so that we can manifest positive change in the world around us.
