Earth Healing weekend and Stonehenge Ceremony September 2021

This weekend grew out of the remnants of our many-times-postponed 10-day journey from Wiltshire to Pembrokeshire in Wales, when we would have been following the energies of the Stonehenge – Preseli energy line. Instead, we decided to use our Stonehenge private access booking to be the culmination of a weekend’s work with sites on some of the major ley lines and pathways that surround and/or converge at Stonehenge.

These are the Belinus-Elen line (from the Isle of Wight to Faraid Head in Scotland), the Preseli - Stonehenge line (from the Preseli Hills in Wales through Stonehenge to Worthing in Sussex) , the Michael-Mary line (from Carn les Boel in Cornwall to Hopton in Norfolk), the Glastonbury – Stonehenge – Canterbury line, or Great Ley (from North Devon to Kent), the Old Sarum – Stonehenge – Avebury line (from Frankenbury Camp near Fordingbridge to Rosslyn in Scotland) and the Stonehenge Midsummer axis line (from the Dorset coast, near Burton Bradstock to the Norfolk coast, near Cromer). In particular, we had been guided to work with the sacred sites where these lines converge or cross one another. The intention was to assist in maintaining the harmonic resonance and balance between these diverse earth-energy meridians that criss-cross the country, during these particularly challenging times, which have affected many people in all walks of life, not just because of covid, but also because of the climate crisis, because of various political crises of many colours and dimensions, and so on. Inevitably, this all has effects on the smooth flowing and harmony of the Earth’s major energy lines and grids.

Added to that, right now every outer planet from Jupiter out to Pluto appears from our Earth-based perspective to be going retrograde, indicating that this is a time for releasing many of the traumas and misaligned energies of the past, all coming to a head right now. What better time to walk gently and lovingly on the land, offering prayers, meditations and ceremonies for Mother Earth to help her to maintain the balance of her energy lines and thereby enable her to help us to maintain our inner balance and outer relationship with others and our larger environment.

We began our weekend by gathering at a most beautiful Village Hall in Crawley, near Winchester. It immediately felt that we were off to a good start; this was the most pristine, warm, uplifting and welcoming village hall we had encountered over many years of working with groups. As our lovely group started to arrive, there was an immediate sense of joy and laughter, which rose and then subsided into a calm and comfortable stillness, then bubbled back up again, as we waited for the last arrivals.

We shared a little about ourselves and dealt with the practical and spiritual plans for the weekend, with a quick briefing about the somewhat chaotic astrology of the time. We called in our spiritual helpers and then set off in convoy to Winchester for St. Catherine’s Hill. As we were in 7 vehicles and the parking at St. Catherine’s is quite small, we had decided to leave some cars at a larger car park and decamp into just 4 vehicles. That is when the chaotic astrological energies began to manifest themselves! The car parking machines would not take coins and the on-line payment options were a challenge, to say the least – our first encounter with retrograde Uranus, ruler of supposedly helpful and time-saving technology! Eventually, after a quite long and frustrating delay, we managed to sort ourselves out and headed up the steep climb to St. Catherine’s Hill.

We gathered in a circle on the mound in the woods, where the Belinus and Elen currents interweave at a node point, in a cathedral of trees stretching up to the heavens, their roots penetrating deep into the earth. Our meditation was accompanied by several sets of Koshi chimes, each attuned to one of the 4 elements, creating a joyful greeting to the elementals and tree spirits, who seemed pleased that we were there. We focussed on the central vertical column of light, running from our crown centre to the root centre in the core of our bodies and then anchoring that deep into the earth, as we became aware that we were surrounded by the columns of light of the tree spirits all around us.

From there, we processed out of the woods in single file, to the sound of the horse drum, to walk the mizmaze that is cut into the turf just beyond the woods. This is where the Belinus and Elen currents cross for a second time on St. Catherine’s Hill and also interweave with the male and female currents of the Preseli – Stonehenge line. What more elegant way to weave together these two vast energy currents than with a beautiful turf labyrinth?

On previous visits there have been lots of visitors, and we had thought that we’d walk individually, with respect for others. As it happened, there was not another person in sight, so we could all walk together. To walk such a large labyrinth in the company of 18 people is a profound and uplifting experience. In the photograph you can see us grounding after walking the labyrinth together.

After a picnic lunch, we headed into Winchester to the Cathedral, where the Belinus – Elen currents cross again under the high altar, in the beautiful crypt, which has a profound stillness and deep silence about it.

Our final site for the day was Danebury Ring hillfort, on the female current of the Preseli – Stonehenge line. We made our way, carrying Sheila’s large mother drum, through the outer ramparts to set up the drum in the inner ring, next to a wild pear tree. The four of us who had gone ahead with the drum played a heartbeat rhythm as the rest of the group made their way into the centre. Standing there in meditation together, it felt as if we were gently cradled, held in the loving embrace of Mother Earth, as we gave gratitude to her for our profound, inspiring and magical day.

On the Sunday, we gathered first at Stoney Littleton Long Barrow, near Wellow, on the Preseli – Stonehenge line. This is a most beautiful and pristine long barrow, which is little visited compared to West Kennett long barrow at Avebury. Stoney Littleton is aligned on the Midwinter Sunrise and the passageway slopes gently downwards to the main chamber, giving a sense of descending deep into the heart of Mother Earth. Whilst several of the group drummed outside the barrow, the others went inside in groups of 6 at a time, until everyone had had their turn. In the sharing afterwards, it was clear that this had had a profound effect on everyone, in many different ways.

From Stoney Littleton, we made the short drive to “Devil’s Bed and Bolster” which is hidden away in two small, wooded copses. The first copse houses the shallow earthwork, which I believe is the “bed” and the second copse houses the remains of a dolmen, the “bolster”. The energy here is simply exquisite and filled with magic. Two majestic horse chestnut trees mark the energy currents of the Preseli – Stonehenge line, which meet with the Michael current of Michael-Mary, at a node point in the centre of the dolmen. To stand on this point is just sublime. We placed our two, recently acquired C and E crystal bowls, one on each energy line and played them gently as each person took their turn to stand on the crossing point. It felt as if the two lines were gently resonating in perfect harmony, as our ceremony unfolded.

We had planned to visit the little village of Sutton Veny next, to connect with sites there on the Glastonbury – Stonehenge – Canterbury line, but sadly we had run out of time, if we wanted to make it to Stonehenge in time for our private access.

We arrived at Stonehenge Visitor Centre to meet up with 12 others who would be joining us inside Stonehenge, so we were now a group of 30, several of whom were old friends whom we had not seen in some time. We were greeted by our lovely smiling host Josh, who was very interested to learn what we had in store for our ceremony and meditation. It also turned out afterwards that he is a quite accomplished photographer, who has taken some quite stunning shots of the Midsummer sunrise at Stonehenge.

When we arrived at the stones, four of the group went ahead into the circle to set up Sheila’s Mother Drum, whilst the rest of us made our way to encircle the Hele Stone, before processing into the stone circle to the sound of the drum, beating the heartbeat of Mother Earth. As I approached the stones, I was aware that the energy felt simply enormous, far stronger that I had experienced it here before, over my 27 years of bringing groups here.

As we began our meditation we again focussed, as we had at all the sites, on the central core column of light running from our crown to root centre. As we breathed, we expanded that light to extend around our bodies, then to merge with each other’s column of light and expand that one column of light to encircle the stones out as far out as the Hele Stone. I had anticipated that this might take a while, given that a third of our group were now newcomers, but it all happened really quickly and easily. Then, we simply breathed down the column of light from the height of Heaven to the deep of the Earth and then back up the column of light from the deep of the Earth to the height of Heaven. We toned from our hearts to send the energies from our journey, ceremonies and meditations out into the tapestry of light energies that radiate outwards from Stonehenge, into the Earth’s energy grids.

Then we wrapped ourselves in cloaks of gold and emerald light, drawn up from Mother Earth and lay on the earth to ground ourselves. For All Our Relations.
