Opening the Heavenly Window

Jupiter in Sidereal & Tropical Aquarius

20th April – 13th May

28th July – 23rd Aug (retrograde)

10th – 29th Dec

You may remember, from a previous blog, that Jupiter and Saturn were exactly conjunct in the first degree of Aquarius on the day of the last Winter Solstice, December 21st 2020.

This was the moment when something new, significant, and filled with potential, yet also precious, innocent and vulnerable was being seeded into the collective consciousness. The seed potential of that moment needed to be nurtured, tended and encouraged to grow into its most positive, life-affirming expressions in the coming months. It marked the moment when the Aquarian Dream could prepare to take form within the 3rd dimension, as it imprinted new potentials into Earth’s energy grids, ready to flow into Humanity’s collective consciousness.

You may also remember that it was going to take until the Spring of 2021 before these energies could truly begin to manifest into conscious awareness. The timing of this process is due to the Precession of the Equinoxes:

So, to remind you about Precession - the Earth wobbles slowly on its axis, taking approximately 25,626 years to complete one full 360° “wobble”.

The start point of the Tropical Zodiac is at Spring Equinox (in northern hemisphere). This is when the Sun reaches 0° Aries, the point where the Celestial Equator (Earth’s Equator projected into space) intersects with the Ecliptic plane (the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun).

Due to Earth’s precessional wobble on its axis, the Equinox points precess very slowly backwards through space, in relation to the star constellations that originally gave the Zodiac signs their names and characteristics. It takes on average 2,135 years for the Equinox point to precess backwards through one complete constellation.

AGE OF ARIES - STAR CHART

Around 1,700 BCE, as Astrology was emerging, the Spring Equinox point coincided with the constellation of Aries in the background. Now, almost 3,700 years later, the Spring Equinox point (0° Tropical Aries) has traversed through the constellations of Aries (Age of Aries) and Pisces (Age of Pisces) and now lies in-between the constellations of Pisces and Aquarius, shown by the star map for the March 2021 Equinox below. This is why we are “moving into the Age of Aquarius”.

PISCES TO AQUARIUS - STAR CHART

So, the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs have gradually slipped out of phase with each other. Now a planet in Tropical Aquarius will also be in Sidereal Capricorn, at the same moment. This does not invalidate either of the two Zodiacs. The patterns and cycles created by the planets’ movements through space are multi-layered, dealing with vast distances and perspectives. The Sidereal Zodiac is concerned with spiritual energies and archetypes, emanating from the distant constellations; these energies take many light-years to reach us and govern long cycles of spiritual evolution on Earth. The planets’ positions in the Sidereal Zodiac govern our larger, collective experience and the overall spiritual evolution and collective karma of Humanity.

Meanwhile, the Tropical Zodiac is much closer to home, being based on Earth’s axis tilt in relation to the Sun and how that creates the cycle of the seasons. The positions of the planets around the Tropical Zodiac signs define our individual human experiences, growth cycles, karma and personal spiritual evolution.

Since Jupiter and Saturn became exactly conjunct, last Winter Solstice at 0° 28’ Tropical Aquarius, they have been progressing through Tropical Aquarius / Sidereal Capricorn, with Jupiter moving quite quickly and Saturn moving more slowly.

By 20th April, Jupiter will have passed the last star of Sidereal Capricorn and moved fully into Sidereal Aquarius, whilst also still being in the last 3° of Tropical Aquarius, so for about 3 weeks, Jupiter will be in the “Window of the Heavens” where the energies of the two Aquarius zodiacs come into harmonic resonance as they overlap and coincide.

This will open up opportunities, until 13th May, for Jupiter to bring through the true spiritual (Sidereal) dreams and ideals the underpin the Aquarian impulse to act selflessly, in the best interests of our common humanity, and to uphold the values of human rights and the rights of all sentient beings, to respect and care for the Earth as a living being, to embrace our universal sisterhood and brotherhood, and to use the rapid technological advances of our time for the benefit and enhancement of humanity and all beings; this will be in contrast to the increasing tendency to use, or attempt to use these technologies to control, manipulate or limit freedoms, rights or creative expression, which has been growing alarmingly as Jupiter traversed Sidereal Capricorn.

This window of “as above, so below” may be short lived, but it will occur three times in the coming year, as Jupiter turns retrograde and then goes direct again. The first opportunity for aligning with and manifesting true Aquarian ideals will occur from 20th April to 13th May, then again from 28th July to 23rd August, when Jupiter will be retrograde. This may feel like a time when things are going backwards again, as everything standing in the way of realising the Aquarian dream is brought out fully into the light, revealing all the discrepancies and hypocrisies that still exist between the dream and the reality.

During this retrograde phase, it will be important not to collapse into a state of hopelessness or despair, but to keep in mind that we are witnessing the death throes of the old paradigm, and that it is necessary to see clearly how far we still have to go in order to bring the dream of the new paradigm into manifestation. Whilst Jupiter is retrograde, it will reveal the distortions and travesties that result from those seeking to mimic Aquarian ideals, without any true understanding of what actually lies at their core.

So, we see cold, calculating lack of compassion masquerading as spiritual detachment; we see the need to control the behaviour of the collective masquerading as a sense of collective responsibility and care towards our fellow beings; we see attempts to make everything uniform masquerading as equality and humanitarianism; we see new technological systems of control masquerading as new technologies designed for the betterment of all.

When Jupiter goes direct again, it will traverse the Sidereal and Tropical Aquarius window for a third time, from 10th to 29th December. Once again, Jupiter will bring the Aquarian energies strongly into focus around the Winter Solstice, consolidating and deepening the seeds of change that were planted at last year’s Winter Solstice, with the Jupiter - Saturn Conjunction. This will ensure that the true ideals of the Aquarian Dream are fully imprinted into the collective consciousness, so that Saturn can now bring them into manifestation.

Saturn’s task is help us to form the structures that will enable the Aquarian ideals to manifest in the coming 2 years, from 2022 – 2023. As Jupiter enters the first Aquarian “window” (20th April – 13th May 2021), Saturn will have reached the point in Sidereal Capricorn, where it is overlapped by the first star of Aquarius, Albali (ε Aquarii). Albali means “the good fortune of the swallower”, because from this point, the bright light from the stars of Aquarius begins to “swallow up” the weaker light of the stars of Capricorn. From here on Saturn will be attempting to accommodate two different paradigms, as it tries to maintain the fading forms, structures and appearances of the old status quo (Sidereal Capricorn), whilst looking for how to create the new structures that can help us manifest new ways of being, which can enable the realisation of the universal truths of the emerging Aquarian ideals.

Jupiter & Saturn - Star Chart 3.png

From now until February 2023, Saturn will be trying to maintain this balance between upholding the old structures and institutions of Sidereal Capricorn, whilst establishing the new, innovative structures to enable the Sidereal Aquarius energies to flourish. As the hopelessness of clinging to the old ideals becomes increasingly obvious, Saturn is likely to show more of Capricorn’s shadow qualities with ever more stringent attempts to control and perpetuate the power structures of the past. By the time Saturn finally enters the Sidereal and Tropical Aquarius window (February to March 2023), it will have revealed the utter futility of clinging to the past and finally allow the old control structures to collapse, opening the way into a more enlightened, humanitarian future.

The key thing to understand is that, between now and early 2023, nothing is fixed, everything is fluid and in a state of flux. What we collectively create by then will depend upon our personal and collective focus, on where we put our energies now. As Jupiter and then Saturn traverse the Aquarian window, we will be shown both the bright face and the shadow face of what Aquarius can mean for us, individually and collectively. We can choose to focus on the hope, vision, dreams and aspirations for the fairer, more balanced, compassionate and humanitarian future, that Jupiter is offering us; or we can choose to focus on the fear, the fear of being controlled by others, or of feeling that we do not have any control over these vast energies of change that we are caught up in, thereby buying into the control agendas of those who are still attached to the dying Age. The choice is ours in every moment, to buy into the fear, or to commit now to creating a future filled with positivity and hope.
